Improve Backup & Recovery Speed
CBT and SpeedKit for incremental backup
- CBT which is supported on VMware and XenServer can improve the computing speed of changed data when doing incremental backup, comprehensively reduce the backup time. SpeedKit is a similar technology developed by Vinchin to support RHV and other Vinchin supported virtualization which does not support CBT but also in need of improving incremental backup speed.
LAN-Free backup and recovery
- Data usually is transferred via LAN when doing backup and restore, but when the data size is too large, time windows are sort of tense, network jam will probably occur. Using LAN-Free to backup and restore for VMware, XenServer and RHV under SAN environment, can help to reduce network jam, improve backup and recovery speed without building any separate DR backup network.

Deduplication & Compression to reduce backup size
- With Vinchin Backup & Recovery, most of the duplicated data in the VMs will be detected and deleted before being transferred to the backup repository. After data has been deduplicated, they will be compressed as per preset block size and be stored to the backup repository. Meanwhile, multiple data block sizes are selectable from 64KB to 4096KB , flexible for users to choose a most suitable data block size according to the present environments
BitDetector to skip unnecessary data
- With Vinchin BitDetector, those unnecessary data including swap files (A swap file is used as a temporary location to store information not being used by RAM currently, such as pagefile.sys/hiber.sys.), deleted files (e.g. files in recycle bin) and the un-partitioned disk space (e.g. deleted partition on hard disk) which are useless for the production system can be detected and skiped when doing backup. So that to reduce the total backup size, speed up data transfer as well as save backup storage space.
